ABOUT
Our Story: Honoring Our Legacy, Building the Future
Move2Play Pediatric Therapy was founded on a deep commitment to excellence, innovation, and community impact.
Our Foundation
Valerie Skender has been a valued leader in the Wichita pediatric therapy community since 2001. Before and after graduating from Wichita State University’s physical therapy program, she contributed to multiple research projects and co-authored 10 peer-reviewed publications, many of which she presented at both national and local conferences.
After years of experience in school districts, early childhood intervention programs, and center-based private practice, Valerie founded Move2Play in 2018. Her vision was to create a clinic that brought advanced, high-quality pediatric therapy services to families across the region. She played an integral role in introducing innovative programs and therapies to the Wichita area, including the development of the telemedicine wheelchair clinic in partnership with Children’s Mercy Hospital. Her dedication to clinical excellence and family-centered care established Move2Play as a trusted place for children to receive skilled, compassionate intervention.
Our Future
Today, Move2Play continues to grow under the leadership of Monica Fouquet-Tyler, MS, CCC-SLP, whose career reflects a lifelong passion for giving children a voice and helping them reach their fullest potential.
Monica earned her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Kansas State University in 2001. She brings more than two decades of experience with all ages across hospitals, schools, outpatient private practices, and rehabilitation settings. After relocating to Wichita in 2008, she dedicated her practice to pediatric speech, language, and feeding therapy, developing advanced expertise in specialized areas including FEES, myofunctional therapy, neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES), SOFFI (infant feeding) and myofascial release.
Monica joined Move2Play in 2021, where she expanded the clinic’s services in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), leading device trials, assessments, and family training to ensure every child has access to effective communication tools.
Moving Forward Together
Guided by a strong foundation and a forward-looking vision, Move2Play is committed to innovation, collaboration, and individualized, family-centered care. We honor the legacy that built our clinic and embrace the future—continuing to expand services, strengthen community partnerships, and empower every child to move, communicate, and thrive.
